This year, many of the popular spring and summer parades have been called off due to COVID-19. A number of towns have responded by creating a "virtual parade" in which people are encouraged to build a shoebox float using found items and everyday household materials.

Here, Preslar Art Initiatives sent good wishes to the people of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, which is 1,855 kilometres north of us, on the occasion of their annual Seafest (which was also called off but they aired a virtual parade on their community cable TV channel).

The float incorporates many of the natural objects of the Northwestern Oregon forests.
